Hospitals measure their performance in a variety of ways. At the Royal Melbourne, we measure our performance through a broad range of indicators.
These include indicators such as access through our Emergency Department, elective surgery admissions, the number of patients on the elective surgery waiting list, and hand hygiene compliance.
The targets or indicators for our performance are set by the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards that apply to hospitals nationwide or they might be internal measures that we set to help us deliver high quality and safe care.
We are providing this information to our community through a Daily Performance Indicator Report so you can see a snapshot of our performance each day. You can see how we are tracking compared to the rest of the year and against our annual targets.
