The Infection Prevention and Surveillance Service (IPSS) is a multi-disciplinary team incorporating nursing, medical and laboratory staff.

IPSS staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide on-call infection control services to the hospital.

The role of IPSS is to promote, support and reinforce practices and procedures that protect patients, staff and visitors from picking up infections while in the hospital.

IPSS staff are integral in the management of emerging infections.
