This week marks the launch of the 19th Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery.   Proceeds from the Home Lottery have had a significant impact on patient care and equipment at the Royal Melbourne including the Emergency Department.

With over 200 Victorian presenting at the Emergency Department each day there is no such thing as ‘Opening Hours’ it is always open and with 74,000 patients needing urgent treatment every year it isn’t slowing down.

The Grand Prize valued at over $3.3 million includes an incredible fully furnished Glenvill Home in Hampton plus $250,000 in gold. There are 6,540 prizes to be given away including luxury vehicles, worldwide holidays, electrical goods …. the list goes on.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery is Victoria’s biggest lottery of its kind and the largest fundraising event for The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Launching in 2005, the Home Lottery has raised in excess of $50 million which has directly contributed to patient care, equipment and research at The Royal Melbourne. Over the years, proceeds have been directed to a variety of areas including the Emergency Department, Stroke, Music Therapy Cancer Services, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Medical Research.
