The latest home lottery winner of the $4.5 million grand prize is Ryan Evans from Sandringham! Ryan’s father-in-law was a patient in our 4S Stroke ward earlier this year. Ryan was so impressed with the excellent care and treatment his father-in-law received from our doctors, nurses and other staff at the RMH, he decided to purchase his first Home Lottery ticket online.

Ryan was in disbelief when he received the winning phone call early on 2 April from the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show on Gold104.3. He had just been made redundant at his job the week before receiving the call. Ryan, his wife and son, were absolutely thrilled to win their fully furnished new home in Elsternwick. The heart-warming video of them completing their first tour of the house can be viewed on the RMH Home Lottery Facebook page.

Alison Byrne, RMH Foundation Senior Relationships Manager, presented the family with their keys and invited them for a private tour of the new Acute Stroke and Neurology ward on 8B in the RMH City Campus. Ryan and his family were delighted to hear that last year’s lottery funds had contributed to the upgrade of this new $9.3m world-class Stroke ward.

It was indeed an incredible day for a very deserving family! The RMH Home lottery had a total of 15,200 winners, and a full winners list is available on Stay tuned for the next RMH Home Lottery commencing in mid-2019.

Every ticket purchase supports patient care, funds research and equipment and helps Victorians at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in their time of need.
