Director of the Melbourne Brain Centre Professor Stephen Davis has received the International Cooperation Award at the fifth Annual Scientific Session of Chinese Stroke Association & TISC 2019.

Professor Davis’ award is a reflection of his tireless work building initiatives that foster good relations between Chinese and Australia neurologists. During his time as President of the World Stroke Organisation, he strongly supported an establishment of the Chinese Stroke Association (CSA).

Prof Davis also oversaw the implementation of the Australia-China Training Initiative of Neurology (ACTION) program in 2010 – a program that allows Chinese neurologists to visit the Royal Melbourne Hospital to receive further training and to understand international standards of treatment.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital congratulates Prof Davis on this international recognition.
