We are now providing support and care to four patients and six staff members who have tested positive to COVID-19.

As the initial exposure period of the infected patient dates back to 12 August 2021, extensive contact tracing and testing of impacted staff and patients is ongoing. We have identified approximately 450 staff who are required to furlough from across the hospital. All staff identified will be required to isolate until further notice.

In addition to working through our health service outbreak we are also currently providing care to 12 COVID patients, 3 of which are receiving care in ICU.

We would like to thank our colleagues across the health system for supporting us and taking on the extra demand as a result of this outbreak.

Once again, we would strongly encourage all Victorians to follow the public health advice, and to get vaccinated as soon as you can - COVID-19 vaccines are safe and free.
