Christine Kilpatrick has been the Chief Executive of the RMH since 2017. Previous appointments include the Royal Children’s Hospital Chief Executive from 2008-17, and the RMH Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director from 2004-08.

Before these appointments she was a neurologist, specialising in epilepsy.

Christine is a member of several boards including WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research), The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, HealthShare Victoria and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Alliance.

She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003; included in the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2014; received the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators’ Inaugural Distinguished Fellow’s Award in 2017; was inducted in the top-50 Public Sector Women in 2018; and appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2019 for distinguished service to medicine through senior administrative roles, the promotion of quality in health care and neurology.
