Tina Thompson is a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Genomic Medicine Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and an Honorary Clinical Fellow, Department of Medicine (RMH) Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (The University of Melbourne).
Tina has over 15 years of experience in the field of genomic medicine with a particular interest in cardiac genetics. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of topics related to cardiac genetics and genomic medicine, including the:
- genetic basis of inherited cardiac disorders
- use of genetic testing to diagnose and guide the management of inherited disorders
- implication of genetic variants for family members
- ethical and social implications of genetic testing and genomic medicine.
Tina has published in medical journals and presented work at national and international conferences.
She is also a member of several professional organisations including the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Human Genetics Society of Australia and the European Society of Cardiology.
