Flowers and potted plants are a wonderful gift for patients and can certainly brighten up their bedside area and help their emotional wellbeing.
From Friday 3 September 2021, flower delivery services cannot enter any Royal Melbourne Hospital site.
Flowers and potted plants can still be purchased from the florist in the retail precinct.
We are no longer allowing the delivery of non-essential services to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure across all of our sites.
Areas that cannot have flowers and plants
In some areas we cannot allow flowers and potted plants for patient safety reasons.
Please do not bring flowers or potted plants for patients in:
- Emergency & Trauma
- Haematology wards
- Intensive Care
- Oncology (cancer) wards
- Respiratory wards
- Transplant wards (such as kidney and bone marrow transplants)
You can buy flowers and potted plants from the florist in the retail precinct.
