The role of the renal pharmacist includes the provision of clinical pharmacy services to all inpatients including medication history and reconciliation upon admission, medication order review, and educating patients on their medicines. As an expert in medications the pharmacist also provides advice to doctors, nurses and other health care professionals on medication management including drug interactions, drug selection and dose adjustments in renal disease.
Senior Renal Pharmacist & Deputy Director of Pharmacy

Michelle Nalder completed her pharmacy training in 2003 and has worked as a renal pharmacist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital since 2004. Michelle completed a Master of Clinical Pharmacy in 2008.
Michelle is currently the Senior Renal Pharmacist and is responsible for the provision and co-ordination of pharmacy services to the renal unit including the renal inpatient ward (6SW) and dialysis.
Michelle and her colleagues are available to help renal patients with any questions or concerns about their medications.
Renal Transplant Outpatient Pharmacist
Susan was previously at the Alfred hospital and her experience includes working as the outpatient pharmacist to the lung transplant unit there. She is here to help with all aspects of transplant medication.

Louise has recently joined our team with Michelle being seconded to Deputy director of the RMH Pharmacy post. She is a highly experience pharmacist.
