Associate Professor Chris MacIsaac is the Divisional Director of Critical Care & Investigative Services and Director of Intensive Care Medicine at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Following his basic medical degree at Monash University, Chris initially commenced surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He then went on to complete specialist training in intensive care medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital and was awarded Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2000. Following this he completed a PhD at The University of Melbourne in Sepsis in 2006. He is a Fellow of The College of Intensive Care Medicine and has completed a Masters of Health Services Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound.
Chris has been an intensive care specialist at The Royal Melbourne since 2003 and was appointed Deputy Director in 2008.
