Melbourne Health requires the recording of research participation of all patients to be recorded in real-time on iPM.
This initiative aims to:
- Improve patient safety by ensuring details of patients participation in a research project is made available to the clinical and ward staff at RMH via alerts - especially for staff in the Emergency Department; and
- Report to staff and the community about how many of our patients are involved in research and assess our performance against proposed recruitment targets.
What you need to do
Data must be entered into iPM for all research projects that were approved from 1st of September 2014. This means that researchers or research coordinators will need to complete the research participation tab in iPM for every new patient consented into a research project approved after 1st of September.
Below, download a copy of the instructions on how to enter research participation on to iPM.
