The objective of Researcher Support schemes is to provide opportunities to foster medical research and invest in the highest quality researchers and projects. These fellowships provide a vehicle for advanced training in health and medical research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The Allan Watt and Chris Geyer Oncology Fellowship 

The aim of this fellowship is to provide salary support to mid-career clinicians to undertake research in the areas of liver or colorectal oncology and brain oncology.  In 2017 priority will be given to liver or colorectal research projects. The prize is $75,000 per annum (includes total employment costs) at 0.4 EFT for two years, plus up to $10,000 towards running costs for the duration of the project.

The DW Keir Fellowship in Medical Research

The aim of this prestigious fellowship is to provide an outstanding Australian researcher with the opportunity to undertake research within The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The two-year part time Fellowship will provide partial salary support and a contribution towards research-related expenses. The prize is $75,000 per annum (includes total employment costs) at 0.4 EFT for two years, plus up to $25,000 towards running costs for the duration of the project.  This Fellowship is open to clinicians and scientists.

Rabinowicz and Amarant Family Cancer Research Fellowship in Memory of Rosalie Mordech

The aim of this fellowship is to support a mid-career researcher with an outstanding track record to undertake haematological cancer research. The prize is $85,000 per annum (includes total employment costs) at 0.4 EFT for two years, plus up to $30,000 toward running costs for the duration of the project. This fellowship is open to clinicians and scientists.
