Research has driven change in medical practice and at Melbourne Health we have a long and proud history of research. While its benefits have accrued to all people, the opportunity to do research has been limited for women and yet female clinicians are highly represented in the healthcare workforce.
To address the gender balance in research we have launched a program to create opportunities for young female scientists and clinicians – nurses, allied health professionals, doctors – to undertake research as part of their careers. To make significant achievements in research, our female researchers must
be afforded the opportunity to learn, participate and lead.
