Applications for the 2025 Graduate Nurse Program open Monday 27 May and close Friday 21 June 2024.

Come along to one of our information sessions to find out about the rotations available at the RMH, support you’ll receive during the program, future career opportunities, and the application process.

The evening will feature a live Q&A with panellists from our education team, 2024 grads, and NUM group.

When: Wednesday 15 May, 5pm to 6.30pm and Tuesday 28 May, 5pm to 6.30pm
Where: The Charles La Trobe Theatre at the RMH Parkville

If you would prefer to watch a recording or cannot attend, a video of the info session will be posted to our website in late May.

How to submit your application

Step 1 - Register with PMCV

Check your eligibility for a 2025 program, then register with PMCV Allocation and Placement Service – APS.

Once registered, list the RMH as a preference.

Step 2 - Apply to the RMH

Apply to the RMH and complete the online application via our online recruitment portal. You will need your PMCV number for this process.

When asked "Are you applying for a Nursing Role?" (under "Employment History"), select "No”.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital follows the PMCV APS eligibility criteria for the 2025 Match. We welcome applications from Australian and New Zealand citizens and temporary residents who hold a visa that gives them the right to work in Australia.

Interview process

The interview process includes a video interview with PMCV and a group interview with the RMH.

PMCV video interview

PMCV require you to complete an online video interview anytime between 10am Monday 1 July and 5pm Thursday 4 July. This is to be recorded via the PMCV site.

PMCV have some helpful information on preparing for your interview and tips on their website.

The RMH will review the video interview for shortlisted candidates.

Group interview

Shortlisted candidates will also receive an email to invite them to book a face-to-face group interview at the RMH Parkville. These will be conducted between 29 July and 16 August from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

We can arrange online group interviews by application for exceptional circumstances (such as interstate applications).

Application outcome

PMCV results will be available Wednesday 4 September at 10am.

If you have matched with the RMH, you will receive a phone call and email from the Nursing Education Department congratulating you and welcoming you to the organisation.
