Our Medical Imaging team is buzzing with excitement this June, as they welcomed Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas to view our new state-of-the-art MRI department.

The development has been a major logistical operation, with four brand new machines being installed on Level 9 of our Parkville site.

Radiographer and MRI supervisor, Angela Agostinelli, said that the new area feels bright and spacious, helping the team to deliver great care to patients.

“It’s a nice and welcoming space for patients to come to, with plenty of natural light and rooms designed to make them feel comfortable and reduce anxiety,” Angela said.

“Having the latest technology means we will have access to higher quality imaging on our four new scanners."

"Two of these scanners will be used for inpatients and the other two will be used for outpatients, so we’ll be able to spend more time doing high resolution imaging."

This development is just one of many exciting changes taking place across the RMH, as we get ready for the future.
