If you’re heading to the RMH Parkville this week, things may look a little different while we renovate our site. Our improvement works have closed certain areas, which may change the path you need to take to get to your floor or ward.

We’ve closed off part of the ground floor foyer to replace the existing floor vinyl and tiles, as well as improve our air conditioning systems, the ceiling and fire alarm sprinklers.

These closures may mean that you need to follow a different path or take a different elevator than what you are used to.

Entering through the car park

If you are entering the hospital through our underground car park and want to get to the main block or the south block, you will need to:

  1. Enter the hospital from the car park
  2. At the intersection, go left and follow the green line until you get to the B Block lifts (there are signs to direct you)
  3. Take the B Block lifts to level 1
  4. Walk around to the main block
  5. From level 1, take the lifts or stairs to your chosen floor

Entering via the main entry

If you are entering hospital from the main entrance and foyer, and want to get to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), neurology or cancer wards in B Block, you will need to:

  1. Enter the hospital through the foyer
  2. Take the main block lifts to level 2
  3. Follow the signs to the the B Block lifts

There will be security staff in the area from 8am to 8pm to help guide you.

Once again, thank you for your patience as we work to ensure a safer, more welcoming experience for our staff, patients and the community.
