The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) has officially launched its new ten-year strategic plan, Together 2035.
This strategy outlays the RMH’s bold vision for the future and expresses how the organisation will continue to care for the community with excellence, compassion and ambition in a healthcare context that is rapidly developing and changing.
The RMH’s Chief Executive Professor Shelley Dolan says the strategic plan provides a clear pathway for the future while reinforcing the strengths of the organisation and its people.
“The essence of this strategy is evolution, not revolution,” Prof Dolan says.
“Through Together 2035, we will build on our strengths and ensure we are ready for what is next.
“This turns our attention to the future with a sense of possibility and optimism, while staying true to what has always made the Royal Melbourne Hospital special.”
At the heart of the strategy, the RMH’s purpose remains the same - advancing health for everyone, every day.
The new strategy is built around three new strategic pillars, which will help guide the work of the hospital in a changing health landscape.
They are:
- Redesigning world-class care
- Thriving through inspiration and curiosity
- Leading research excellence for clinical impact
Three strategic drivers have also been introduced to help support the pillars and achieve the RMH’s goals.
These are:
- Systems thinking
- Digital intelligence
- Performance and sustainability
