The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Parkville Precinct has transitioned to using HealthLink for the secure electronic delivery of discharge summaries and clinical correspondence to general practitioners (GPs) and specialist providers.
We are pleased to announce that the Parkville Precinct – which comprises the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Royal Women's Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Children's Hospital – has successfully transitioned from Argus Secure Messaging to HealthLink for the secure electronic delivery of discharge summaries and clinical correspondence to GPs and specialist providers.
HealthLink enables fast, reliable, and encrypted communication, which means patient information is transmitted securely and remains accessible only to the intended recipient. This transition enhances our ability to communicate effectively with our network of GPs, supporting timely follow-up care and improving continuity across the healthcare system.
The change occurred primarily in the background and has been designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems and workflows. We acknowledge the collaborative efforts of various teams and staff across all 4 health services in delivering this important milestone in our digital health strategy.
