Christopher moved to Melbourne from regional Victoria in the early 1970s and has been based near the RMH since then.

After a career in hospitality management, he completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in humanities at RMIT.

He has been involved in several community-based projects, including the Broadmeadow Youth Housing project, the Welfare Rights Model project and was a director at a community cooperative that piloted a novel way to alleviate cycles of generational poverty in high rise public housing estates.

He is now a higher education lecturer and researcher and was awarded a PhD from RMIT in 2008. He has been involved with the RMH since 2018 and enjoys his role on the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), a weekly wheelchair and wayfinding shift and has completed Serious Incident Review training.
