Dr Irene Stevenson leads the Cardiac Implantable Device Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
She is an experienced cardiologist specialising in pacemakers (including leadless), defibrillators (transvenous, subcutaneous and extra-vascular) and cardiac resynchronisation therapy.
Dr Stevenson has a particular interest in using new remote monitoring technologies to improve and streamline care for people with cardiac devices and manages many adults with congenital heart disease.
She is passionate about 'Conduction System Pacing', a pacing technique which recruits the heart’s natural electrical pathways.
Dr Stevenson also teaches and mentors cardiology trainees and has authored many research publications in leading international journals.
