Prof Peter Mitchell

Head of Neurointervention

Professor Peter Mitchell completed his Postgraduate Neuroradiology and Neurointervention training in the USA and has been Head of Neurointervention at the RMH since returning in 1993.

Peter is also Head of the Endovascular Clot Retrieval Service (statewide service) at the RMH.

Peter established the Neurointervention service with a clinical and research focus. He has formalised a 24/7 service with clinical management of complex cerebrovascular diseases conjointly with neurosurgery and neurology. He supervises inpatient and outpatient cerebrovascular services, including specialist clinics, and comprehensive neuroimaging.
