Notes

Please Note: This is not a free fatty acid (please refer to FFA on Path Test). This is a Fatty Acid Profile.
The patient should ideally fast overnight for 9 - 12 hours.Please note on slip if patient is fasting or not. Exception is given to infants and persons suspected or known to have certain medical conditions where prolonged fasting is not possible. In such instances, a sample taken just before the next feed/meal is acceptable.
The patient must not consume any alcohol for 24 hours before the specimen is drawn.
