Label glass slides in lead pencil with the patients name, UR No. and specimen type. Expel a drop of sample onto a slide and smear, air-dry rapidly or fix immediately in 95% alcohol, rinse remaining sample in saline or expel remaining sample into 10% NBF. Coplin jars of 95% alcohol are available, contact 03 9342 7853.
