Phospahtidylethanol is a non-oxidative metabolite of ethanol that can still be detectable approximately 4 weeks/1 month after cessation of alcohol consumption. The main isoform measured is the 16:0/18:1 form. Concentrations above 0.050 umol/L is indicative of alcohol consumption within this timeframe.
