Teicoplanin: The therapeutic target refers to a trough/ pre dose level. Target trough level: Uncomplicated infections: 15-30 mg/L. Serious infection (e.g. bone or joint infection, bacteraemia): 20-40 mg/L. Higher target levels have been used for endocarditis (e.g. > 30 mg/L) but discussion with VIDS is advised for these cases. Toxicity is uncommon at trough concentrations less than 50 mg/L. See Prompt for more details (teicoplanin (intravenous)).
