Congratulations to the RMH Chief Executive Professor Shelley Dolan who has been recognised among the IPAA Victoria’s Top 50 Public Sector Women.

Announced last night, Professor Dolan was recognised in the Established Leader category for her positive and proactive leadership, championing diversity and inclusion and driving transformative change.

IPAA Victoria’s Top 50 Public Sector Women awards program has been running since 2017, acknowledging and honouring women at every level of government. This prestigious program recognises the leadership, dedication, and accomplishments that have significantly contributed to the advancement of the public sector.

Professor Dolan said she was honoured to receive the award and has been inspired by the women in her category.

“Women in the public service have met some extraordinary challenges over the past few years, especially following COVID-19. I am incredibly humbled and grateful to learn and be inspired by them” Professor Dolan said.

“It is a privilege to work in public health and an absolute joy to work with the team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital as we strive to advance healthcare for all.”

Professor Dolan joined the RMH in August 2023.

She is a familiar face in the Parkville Precinct, previously serving as the Chief Executive of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. In her previous roles, Professor Dolan has successfully led large specialist tertiary hospitals in the UK, including as Chief Executive of Kings College Hospital and Deputy Chief Executive of the Royal Marsden Hospital. Professor Dolan is a highly respected international clinical and research leader with an impressive track record in health care, having successfully led major organisational and cultural change in Victoria and the United Kingdom.
