Mr Robert Rothnie

Chief Redevelopment Officer — he/him

Robert joined the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) in May 2023 as Chief Redevelopment Officer.

Robert joins the RMH with extensive experience as a healthcare executive, including service planning and development, health service strategy, master planning and infrastructure delivery. Robert will lead the exciting development of the RMH Arden site and the redevelopment of the Parkville site, in partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority.

He was previously Project Director for New Footscray and Melton Hospitals at Western Health, where he managed a portfolio of two capital projects worth approximately $2.5 billion. Before his current role, Robert was Western Health’s Director of Service Planning and Development responsible for a range of projects, including the development and subsequent funding of major capital business cases for Footscray and Sunshine sites.

Earlier in his career, Robert served as a Board Director for Kyneton District Health Service and in multiple roles with the Victorian state government.
