Dr Sinjini Biswas is an structural and interventional cardiologist.
Dr Biswas graduated in medicine from The University of Melbourne as one of 50 International Undergraduate Scholars across the University.
She completed her basic physician training and general cardiology training at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Subsequently, she was supported by scholarships from the National Heart Foundation and NHMRC to complete a PhD at Monash University on the use of routinely collected healthcare data on designing and optimising systems of care for coronary intervention.
She undertook advanced subspecialty training in Complex Coronary Intervention and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation through fellowships at The Alfred Hospital, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Bristol Heart Institute. She worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute for 2 years, before returning to Melbourne.
Dr Biswas’ clinical and research interests are in performing complex, high-risk coronary intervention, particularly involving the use of advanced calcium modification techniques and intracoronary imaging modalities, as well as the management of cardiogenic shock in the cardiac cathlab.
She is published widely and regularly serves as invited faculty for major international cardiology conferences such as Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), European Society of Cardiology and the Asia-Pacific Society of Cardiology Imaging & Physiology conferences.
She has won several competitive awards including emerging leader awards from the British Cardiac Intervention Society (BCIS) and the American Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (SCAI).
Dr Biswas sees patients and performs procedures at Royal Melbourne Hospital, as well as across several locations in Melbourne and Bendigo.
