Does becoming a qualified health professional worry you? Do you know how to escalate a situation if it's needed? Do you know who to escalate to? Why is night duty so challenging? How can I improve when there is so much to learn?

These are just some of the questions nursing students have as they complete their training. This course aims to ease the stress many nursing students have about transitioning from an undergraduate nursing role to a fully qualified nurse.

Ready, Steady, Nurse! study day focuses on developing non-clinical skills needed for a successful career in health. It is designed to equip you with the strategies and tools needed to perform at a high professional standard and to become a valued member of the nursing team.

  • death and dying - how nurses cope

  • developing confidence in your own judgement

  • personality clashes

  • receiving and giving feedback to improve practice

  • human factors involved in MET calls / code blue

  • bouncing back from adversity

  • email etiquette
