Collection Requirements: 2 x 6 ml Lithium Heparin No Gel (Dark Green). Send to the laboratory immediately. Sample must be frozen ASAP.

Collection Requirements: 10 ml Urine (24 hr acid) 10mL Urine, timed 1 mg sodium metabisulphite and 6 mL 6N HCl. Follow Special Diet information sheet instructions prior to collection. Transport sterile screw capped container cold. Transport frozen if no preservative used. Note the total volume on the request form. Collection Requirements: 10 ml Urine (24 Hr acid) Special Requirements : Patient should avoid ingestion of bananas 24 hrs prior commencement of urine collection and during the period of urine collection LAB NOTES: 24 hour urine collections must be collected into a bottle that contains 1 mol/L (5%) acetic acid as a preservative. The volume of 1 mol/ L acetic acid to be added to the bottle depends on the age of the patient. See Document number SR-W-034 or SR-P-007 for volume of acid to be added to the container prior to collection. Ensure all age / warning labels are attached to the container. Ensure patient / carer understands risk associate with the acid - use interpreter services if required.
