Congratulations to two current and former Royal Melbourne Hospital staff members recognised in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours list for their outstanding contribution to medicine, leadership, training and their community.
Two staff members were appointed to the prestigious Member of the Order of Australia (AM), including:
• Associate Professor Anne Howard, consultant dermatologist, for her “significant service to dermatology as a clinician, teacher, examiner and mentor” and;
• Ms Bridget Shaw, advanced practice physiotherapist in the emergency department, for her “significant service to physiotherapy, to clinical training, and to advanced practice leadership.”
A/Prof Howard has been a consultant dermatologist with the RMH since 1985, and remains a respected member of staff today.
Ms Shaw was an advanced practice physiotherapist at the RMH Emergency Department from 2008 to 2012.
The RMH celebrates these distinguished staff members and thanks them for their contribution to advancing health for everyone, every day.
