This one-day course provides candidates with the skills and knowledge to recognise, assess and manage the patient in the immediate period of crisis. Candidates are sent a manual at least two weeks before the course to start preparation for the face-to-face component. This includes those skills for dealing with a cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies in a clinical setting.

The seventeenth International Hokkaido Trauma Conference will be held at the 4-star Rusutsu Resort Hotel on the Japanese island of Hokkaido from 11 to 16 January 2026. The conference aims to update clinicians from a wide range of backgrounds - including anaesthetics, intensive care, emergency care, paramedics, nursing staff and general practitioners - on the current and changing practice of trauma medicine.
