How we work
The regional nurse practitioner coordinates and oversees the regional program and is supported by the two regional nurse consultants. They are in regular contact with nephrologists and nursing staff at the regional dialysis units to discuss patients' progress and management issues.
The team provides dialysis training and professional development for nurses working in the regional dialysis units.
The RMH also provides 24/7 telephone support to clinicians, enabling medical and surgical consultation, support services, outpatient services and admission, when these are not available locally.
