What we do

We diagnose and treat patients with neurological conditions.

We care for people who are in hospital or need to come to hospital a spectrum of disorders, including:

  • Intracranial and extracranial occlusive disease causing stroke
  • Management of intracranial aneurysms
  • Complex head and neck vascular malformations including Vein of Galen malformations
  • Spinal vascular diseases

Our service is provided by a team of accredited endovascular specialists, trained in and using the most up-to-date neurointerventional techniques. Procedures include:

  • Endovascular clot retrieval and pharmacologic therapy for treatment of acute stroke
  • Intracranial and extracranial stents for occlusive ischaemic disease
  • Intracranial coils and stents for aneurysms
  • Conventional transcatheter embolisation to occlude vascular malformations of the head, neck, orbit and spine

In collaboration with our Parkville Precinct partners, including the University of Melbourne, we are also leaders in neurointerventional research.
