The RMH Parkville is easily accessible by train, bus, tram or taxi. There are multiple transport options for you to get to or from the hospital.
Tram
- 19 tram (City to North Coburg), runs along Royal Parade. You can get off the tram at Grattan Street or just outside Melbourne Private Hospital
- 58 tram (Toorak to West Coburg), runs along Flemington Road. Get off at Grattan Street and cross the road to the main entrance. This route is partly serviced by low-floor trams - look for a wheelchair icon in tram timetables
- 59 tram (City to Airport West), runs along Flemington Road. Get off at Grattan Street and cross the road to the main entrance
Accessible tram stop
There is a level access tram stop on Royal Parade with occasional low-floor trams. Catch a route 19 tram to Stop 10: Royal Melbourne Hospital-Parkville Station/Royal Parade.

Train
Parkville Station is located on Grattan Street and Royal Parade, next to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac).
There are 4 entry and exit points to Parkville Station. The closest to the Royal Melbourne Hospital is Royal Parade West. The Grattan Street West entrance is across the road outside Peter Mac.
Both are accessible by escalator or elevator (lift).
Parkville Station is located on Grattan Street, Parkville, at the corner of Royal Parade.
There are 4 station entrances / exits:
- Grattan Street East, located outside University of Melbourne
- Royal Parade East, located on the northeast corner of Grattan Street and Royal Parade
- Royal Parade West, located on the northwest corner of Grattan Street and Royal Parade, outside the Royal Melbourne Hospital
- Grattan Street West, located on the southwest corner of Grattan Street and Royal Parade, outside Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
Within 400 metres of the station of the station are the University of Melbourne, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne Private Hospital, North Melbourne Police Station, and University Square.
Nearby outside the boundary of this map are Queen Victoria Market, Argyle Square, North Melbourne Primary School, the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne Zoo, and Lygon Street.
