Our information desk staff and wayfinding volunteers can direct you to where you need to go when you arrive at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. We also have screens and signs throughout to help you navigate.

If you are not sure where to go when you arrive at the hospital, visit the information desk in the ground floor foyer.

Information desk

The information desk is in the ground floor foyer inside the main entrance on Grattan Street. Our information staff can help answer your questions about the location of services or patients.

If the information desk is unattended, you can use the phone beside the desk for assistance or ask one of our friendly volunteers.

Our wayfinding volunteers

Our volunteers wear polo shirts and RMH lanyards. You can usually find a volunteer:

  • in the ground floor foyer
  • by the central main elevators and staircases on level 1 during peak times

Your appointment information

When you have an appointment booked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we will send you information telling you where to go and what to bring.

You can find this information in the Health Hub patient portal or in your appointment letter if it was mailed to you.

Digital wayfinding screens

We have digital screens mounted by the elevators on each floor and throughout the hospital. Our screens display important messages, as well as the clinics and services on that floor.

Floor decals

Our floor decals can help point you to our north, south, east or west wards or clinics.

On the ground floor, there are blue and green lines leading away from the main central elevators. Follow these lines to find our B Building and Melbourne Private Hospital.
