REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases

REDCap can help meet management requirements of research data and data and metadata which must be collected, stored, retained, used and disposed of in a manner that:

  • Protects the rights, safety, and wellbeing of the research participants and the wider community
  • Maintains data security and integrity
  • Is in accordance with all applicable requirements

Research teams should prepare and maintain procedures and data dictionaries to support their study REDCap databases.

REDCap was developed by a multi-institutional consortium based at Vanderbilt University. The RMH REDCap platform is managed by the Office of Research and Business Intelligence.
