Methods and implementation support for research

Timely access to research methods and services is essential to building top-tier clinical research. Working with an appropriately qualified Biostatistician, Health Economist, Health Informatician, or Co-design and Consumer Involvement specialist and/or Clinical Trialist who can inform on study start-up, study conduct as well as study completion, are among the services MISCH can provide.

MISCH has an arrangement with RMH to provide academic support services to RMH permanent staff in the areas of biostatistics, health economics, and co-design/consumer involvement. This support is offered through the RMH support package, subject to the following conditions: 

1. Eligibility: Only permanent RMH staff members are eligible. Honorary staff are ineligible for this support.
2. Hours Limit: Each eligible researcher can access up to 10 hours of support across the three academic disciplines (biostatistics, health economics, and co-design/consumer involvement) – for one project. 
3. Approval Process: To receive support, researchers must submit a project proposal for review and approval by the RMH Research Office. Support is subject to availability and capacity. Long lead-times are advised.
4. Allocation of Hours: The 10-hour limit applies to the total support received, not per academic discipline. For example, a researcher can use 5 hours for biostatistics, 3 hours for health economics, and 2 hours for co-design/consumer involvement, totaling 10 hours for one project. Note that the 10-hour support is a combined limit across all three academic disciplines, for one project, and cannot be exceeded per researcher. If additional support hours are required, subscription packages are available for upwards of 5 hours of support.
