The Royal Melbourne Hospital's first Reconciliation Action Plan is an opportunity to examine our shared past and initiatives we can put in place to improve our role in the years to come. 

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) acknowledges the Kulin nations as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our services are located and pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Our RAP is a significant milestone in our Reconciliation journey, and builds on the work of many years to improve relationships and contribute to health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our first Reconciliation Action Plan is an opportunity to examine what impact our services have had on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples in the history of the RMH and what initiatives we can put in place to improve our role in the years to come. 

At the RMH we acknowledge this history, understanding that reconciliation is not an outcome or goal as much as it is a relationship and an ongoing journey.
