Local health networks

Our networks of local health services allow us to collaborate, share resources and provide patients with more efficient access to high-quality and comprehensive care.

Parkville Local Health Service Network

We are a part of the Parkville Local Health Service Network (PLHSN), which unites organisations with expertise across a range of disciplines to:

• strengthen collaboration
• improve efficiency and access to care
• create better and more equitable outcomes for patients

Other health networks

• The Western & Central Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (WCMICS) - part of Victoria’s cancer service improvement network
• VCCC Alliance - see Research collaborations for more information
• Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (VCCMHW) - we are a lead partner of the VCCMHW with the University of Melbourne and member of the Transforming Trauma Victoria consortium

Community health services

Some of the services we offer are delivered in collaboration with specialty services in the community:

• BreastScreen Victoria delivers the North Western BreastScreen (Parkville) service at the RMH Royal Park. BreastScreen provides free mammographic screening to women aged 40 years and over without breast symptoms or breast problems
• cohealth is a partner in our Hospital Admission Risk Program (HARP) and Mental Health community services
• Holstep Health is a community partner in HARP and the Back Assessment Clinic
• Bolton Clarke is a HARP community partner
• Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) is a funding partner for the First Nations Dermatology service, which provides culturally safe care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and removes barriers to access dermatology services in regional and rural Victoria
• Odyssey House is a mental health partner that provides alcohol and other drug treatment, training and support
• Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA)
• Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) is a mental health partner and stakeholder on our Reconciliation Action Plan
• Wellways is a mental health partner service

Shared programs

Some of our shared programs include:

• Virtual Hospital – a collaboration with Austin Health
• Second Psychiatric Opinion Service – co-delivered with Monash Health
• Mobile Stroke Unit - operated in conjunction with Ambulance Victoria, the Florey, Neuroscience Foundation, Stroke Alliance, the University of Melbourne and the Department of Health
