This project evaluates the first Australian implementation of Open Dialogue in an adult and older adult community mental health and wellbeing service.
We are examining both the implementation process and the real-world impact of Open Dialogue on consumers, carers and support networks, and the practitioners who deliver this innovative model of care as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services.
Open Dialogue promotes a network-centred model with a social perspective, a space for dialogue and shared decision-making, reflecting the core reform principles of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
This project addresses a critical gap in national research and clinical practice, with significant potential to build an evidence base that could reshape service delivery and drive system reform.

This translational project will inform policy and workforce development strategies by generating insights to support the broader adoption of Open Dialogue across Victorian mental health services.
