At the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we are committed to transparent, merit-based hiring practices for both clinical and non-clinical roles. All job opportunities are advertised and managed through our official careers portals.

Fake or fraudulent job advertisements

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is aware of false job advertisements and employment contracts that claim to represent our health service. These fake job listings may ask for personal information, upfront payments, or promise unrealistic job offers.

If you find a job listing online that you believe might be fake, do not engage with it.

To report or verify a suspicious job advertisement, send a link or screenshot to consumerliaison@mh.org.au or fill out our online feedback form.

Our recruitment and interview process

All roles at the RMH go through the same recruitment process:

  1. Apply for a role via the RMH jobs portal at careers.thermh.org.au
  2. If you are shortlisted as a candidate of interest, you will be either contacted by phone in order to schedule in an in-person or Microsoft Teams interview, or you will be emailed a Sparke Hire from us to complete a recorded video Interview which will be sent from info@sparkehire.com
  3. After your initial interview/video recording, you will then have a second interview. These interviews will always be in person or through Microsoft Teams. We will never as you personal/identification questions via email
  4. If successful, you will be verbally offered the position
  5. You will receive an email via DocuSign with your new contract to sign
  6. You will then receive an email from our HRIS System (called 'SuccessFactors') to begin your onboarding. The email will come from SuccessFactors.System@careers.thermh.org.au - this is where you will upload all of your information (for example, identification documents, bank details, TFN form, immunisation history and police checks)
  7. Your new manager will be in consistent contact with you until your start date
  8. You will never be asked to purchase any IT equipment or asked to send any personal or identity documentation via email. This is all done through our onboarding portal on SuccessFactors
  9. If you are a VISA holder, we will use your passport to run a VEVO check to ensure you have valid working rights
  10. If any of your onboarding documentations are missing, you will be contacted directly by a member of our Recruitment Team, email addresses ending in @mh.org.au or from our generic Recruitment email address such as RMHRecruitServices@mh.org.au or EmployeeServices@mh.org.au
