The Royal Melbourne Hospital has two positions for advanced trainees in palliative medicine, and one position available for a basic physician trainee on rotation. These positions would also be suitable for a trainee from other disciplines wishing to undertake the RACP clinical diploma in Palliative Medicine. The advanced training positions are appointed through the statewide Victorian Palliative Medicine Training Program.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and the palliative care service is an integrated service across the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Women’s Hospital. As part of this, palliative care registrars employed by the Royal Melbourne Hospital will work across the precinct from time to time, and be able to participate in research, education and training that occurs across the centre, including the University of Melbourne
