We offer opportunities for Grade 2 registered nurses who have completed a graduate mental health nurse program to undertake a formal supportive program while completing a postgraduate mental health nursing qualification.
Nurses in the program will have the opportunity to work in various clinical settings within the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Mental Health Services, including Orygen and Western Health and Wellbeing Services.
Through the Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Program, registered nurses working with us can complete a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing in conjunction with our affiliate universities:

Aims of the program
The aim of the UoM, ACU or RMIT Graduate Diploma programs is to provide nursing students with the theoretical knowledge and skills to practice in their specialty area at an advanced beginner level.
Subjects are delivered using a combination of teaching methods, including:
- Clinical simulation
- Online learning
As a postgraduate nurse with us, you will be supported and mentored by the Mental Health Nursing Skills Development Unit, which includes Course Coordinators, Clinical Nurse Educators and other senior mental health nurses.
You must be employed with us to undertake our Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Program.
All positions are full-time (1.0 EFT) or part-time (0.8EFT) and employment conditions are based on the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement (Award).
