Be alert for online scams and fake job advertisements when applying for roles. This page explains ways to tell a real ad for a position at the Royal Melbourne Hospital from a fake one.

We are aware of false job advertisements and employment contracts that claim to represent our health service. These fake job listings may ask for personal information, upfront payments, or promise unrealistic job offers.

All our jobs are advertised through our official jobs portal. If in doubt, contact us at talentandexperience@mh.org.au or consumerliaison@mh.org.au before you apply.

What to do if you suspect a job isn't real

If you encounter a job or employment scam:

It's important that you report false ads and online scams when you see them – even if you haven’t lost money or given any personal information.

How do I know if a job ad is real?

When searching for jobs, be cautious and remember:

  • Only apply to job openings listed on our official jobs portal
  • We will not contact you via instant message such as WhatsApp or Facebook to offer employment
  • We will never ask for cryptocurrency or payment, including payment for visa applications or IT equipment
  • We will never ask for personal or identification documents to be sent by email or direct message

See our recruitment process.

All correspondence and offers will be sent from the following authorised email addresses:

  • a staff member's @mh.org.au email address
  • rmhrecruitservices@mh.org.au
  • employeeservices@mh.org.au
  • info@sparkehire.com (for a video interview request)
  • successfactors.system@careers.thermh.org.au
