Through our lending program, we provide heart failure patients with access to a loan iPad, blood pressure device and saturation monitor to use for their heart failure Telehealth appointments.

Please note this program is currently only available to Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) heart failure patients.

If you're a heart failure patient and don’t have access to a mobile tablet and devices for your heart failure Telehealth appointments, you can borrow an iPad, blood pressure device and saturation monitor from the RMH Cardiology unit through our lending program.

What we provide

We provide the following devices to those who need them:

  • iPad with a cover and stand – the iPad is enabled with a Telstra SIM card, or you can connect the iPad to your home internet
  • Blood pressure device – this allows you to measure your blood pressure and heart rate to tell your healthcare professional during your Telehealth appointment
  • Saturation finger probe – this allows you to monitor your oxygen levels to tell your healthcare professional during your Telehealth appointment

When you will receive your devices

During your hospital stay, if you require a loan iPad and devices to participate in the heart failure Telehealth program, the team will provide you with these before you are discharged. Please raise this with your treating team.

How to return the iPad and devices

At the end of your heart failure treatment program, the heart failure team will arrange to collect the devices from your home at a time that suits you.
